MJ Sport & Outdoor is proud to introduce to you our new line up of SISU premium birch bats. SISU is a Finnish word that roughly translates to mean having courage, tenacity, perseverence and strength in the face of adversity and it fits our business model to a T. You see at MJ Sport & Outdoor we strive to be not just another company but to be leaders with the courage and conviction to bring to you the baseball player ,coach or team not just another product but the absolute best products on the market today and at prices you can afford. We painstakingly did our research to find not just good wood but the absolute best wood available. We believe we have found the source and have chosen yellow birch for our first offerrings for the bats that will bear the SISU name. We are extremely pleased with these beautifully balanced, meticulously crafted hard hitting bats and we are confident that you will be as well.
WHY BIRCH? Yellow birch is quickly becoming the wood of choice for todays discriminating hitter and for good reason. This wood is good. Birch has several great properties.First it is lighter than maple and the sheer rate is higher than ash and just under maple While not quite as hard as maple it has a tendency to get harder with use as the pores in the wood tend to close and has proven to be a very durable bat that in many cases out performs maple. We heard of one player getting over 300 at bats out of his birch bat. Tested extensively in the Cape Cod league players gave it rave reviews with one player quoted as saying "Maple is a thing of the past" Being just slightly lighter than maple allows us to make the larger barrel models many players prefer and still hit our -3 oz. target. We would love for you to give a SISU birch bat a try when you are looking for your next bat.
"The Sisu bats have proved to have more "pop" than other wood bats in the same price range and the variety of models has provided our team with all the necessary sticks to fulfill each players wants and needs. Most importantly the durability has been excellent, only breaking one bat through 15 + games and 4 bats being used for bp and games-
